Lab Technician Intermediate

Performs laboratory technical tasks. Responsible for the care and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Will be required to offer assistance in the operation of the equipment and the gathering of data. Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor.
Specific skills desired for laboratory technician.
o An understanding of laboratory quality control including statistical process control techniques and method validation.
o An understanding of statistics sufficient to determine standard deviation and linear regression.
o Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, primarily ICP-OES and ICP-MS.
o Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel sufficient to create laboratory work instructions and spread sheets.
o The ability to work and communicate well with others in both written and verbal formats.
o The ability to work safely with concentrated acids and bases.
Requires an Associate's Degree or its equivalent and 2-5 years of related experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
